Happy birthday, happy fall

Happy 3rd Birthday, Serena! We had a great time at the Neverland themed party, despite the heat.

Serena's favorite Peter Pan character: the crocodile!

Much effort was put into food, decorations, costumes, and music. Serena's favorite part: "Putting my feet in the water."

Henry was a bit of a wallflower.

Hi! My name is Henry and I'm 3 months old today.

Serena climbing the pyramid of straw at the Underwood fall festival where we had lots of fun.

Serena's (and Henry's) first time in a corn maze. Serena:"Mommy, why are we doing this?" Mommy: "I don't know."

We made it to the end of the maze thanks to some clever map work and a bit of luck. What was there? Another straw pyramid.

Henry felt a little overdressed, but enjoyed himself.

After the bounce house, corn maze, pyramid, pony ride, petting zoo, pig race, playground, cow train, and pumpkin patch, we called it a day. Henry was ready to go, but Serena cried: "I want to go back."  Tune in October 2013 for more.

Dog Days of Summer

Henry takes a more relaxed approach to the milestone pictures than Serena did.

Firsts of July

A few firsts already this month, starting with Serena's very first haircut! I'm not going to say she liked it, but she tolerated it like a champ.

Henry's 1st Fourth of July! Not pictured: Henry.  He was a little freaked out by the big event  so I guess we didn't want to stick a camera in his face. It was also Serena's first real fireworks and she enjoyed it. Her favorite part was "The purple ones." The most profound moment came in the middle when she turned to me and asked, "Why?" Good question.

Our First Month Together

Something tells me these two are going to have a lot in common! Serena above, Henry below.
A rare moment of wakefulness, hanging out with Daddy.
A considerably less rare moment of nap-fulness.

Cousins!
And so begin the days of dress-up! This lovely ensemble was created entirely by Serena and is best described as a tutu-capped, hula kitty butterfly.

Henry is here!

Henry Bernard Fisch finally arrived at 8:37pm on June 5. He weighed in at 8lbs 8oz and was 20 inches. His interests include eating, sleeping, snoozing, napping, dozing, and having the hiccups.

This is the first, and so far only, time Serena held Henry. This tender moment lasted for about 10 seconds until Serena announced "Done."
